This Dessert Has a Little Bit of Summer in Every Bite!
We’re big fans of strawberry shortcake, and we think it’s the ideal light and refreshing dessert to liven up any spring or summertime gathering. It’s also perfect for when you’re wanting something a little lighter than rich and heavy chocolate cake or other desserts. We didn’t think it could get any better than the traditional version, with that light and fluffy angel food cake and the moist and tender strawberries, but then we discovered this cream roll version and we just can’t get enough!
It has a luscious cream filling made from cream cheese, powdered sugar, and whipped cream, and then stuffed with 2 cups of juicy sliced strawberries. Wow! Then just use a jelly roll pan to ensure the cake batter and filling are perfectly rolled together, and before long you’ll have an indulgent, decadent treat that will be the hit of any party or get-together. Plus, this cream roll may look like something from a gourmet bakery, but it’s actually really easy to make!
