I used to be the tuna fish salad queen of the town.

I don’t know how it came about, but every event, social gathering, or potluck that I went to, everyone would always point and say, “You’re bringing your tuna salad, right?” So, that’s what I always made. I mean it was pretty good, but it was just tuna salad. No big deal. It got boring to me. After a while, I stopped eating it all together. I would take a little sample of it when I was making it just to be sure that it was good, and that’s about as far as that went.
I had to do something different. I could hardly stand it anymore. Finally, one day, when the did the usual point and ask, I said, “No, I think I’ll try something new this time.” Everyone just stared at me as I smiled and walked away. Now the pressure was on.

There was only one way I was going to get out of that tuna salad dish, and that’s by making something even better.

I loved that this was something new and different. It was so bright and colorful too. It was just perfect for the first summer BBQ that I took it to. I saw everyone asking around about who brought it. Nobody could figure it out. I didn’t say anything either until the end of the party when I went to pick up my bowl that was completely empty. I took that as a pretty good sign that people liked it. Now people request that I bring this all the time. I just take it as I have another option so I don’t get bored anymore!
