Reese’s Bars

A family favorite…. I add 1 Tbs of peanut butter to the chocolate chips before melting, this keeps the chocolate from getting too hard…it makes cutting the bars easy

When you put two of the world’s greatest dessert together you get perfection. Take some brownies and add Reese’s peanut butter cups and you get these Reese’s Ooey Gooey Bars. And boy, are they good. We’ve also gone ahead and topped them with some extra candy pieces for good measure… we’ve used Peanut Butter M&Ms on top, but if you use Reese’s Pieces, you’ll have double the Reese’s!

Kids said that these are better than Reese’s! Very tasty. Has anyone tried using just 1 stick of butter successfully? I’ll let you know if it works! UPDATE: I made these with 1 1/2 sticks of butter with equally delicious results. I will update again trying 1 stick…UPDATE #2: Okay, I tried one stick of butter – the taste is still delicious! The only difference is that the peanut butter part is a little more crumbly…doesn’t hold together quite as well…so you decide how much butter you want to use!

I make these every year for Christmas for my family. I make one batch with semi-sweet chips and one with white chocolate chips.


1 box chocolate cake mix
16 regular sized peanut butter cups, unwrapped and frozen
