We Serve This Crumb Cake Every Chance We Get!
Around here, we’re big fans of pretty much any kind of cake, but we’re especially partial to crumb cake. It’s soft, flaky and moist, as well as being loaded with rich, creamy flavor. Yum! We especially like this New York crumb cake recipe, because it’s one of the softest and most tender we’ve ever had. It’s also really easy to make, and while it’s the perfect dessert to follow a rich and hearty meal, it also makes a great snack and we even sometimes serve it for brunch. Plus, you can store it at room temperature for up to four days in an airtight container, and we have to admit, we’re guilty of taking a bite or two here and there as a snack when we have leftovers!
There are also some easy variations for this recipe, including substituting plain, low-fat yogurt for the buttermilk and doubling the recipe. Just place in a 9×13-inch pan and then increase the baking time to 40 to 45 minutes. Trust us, this cake is so delicious that you’ll probably need to make double to make sure that everyone gets a piece! Whenever we make it, it always goes super fast.
