Weight Watchers Peach Cobbler

Cobbler refers to a variety of dishes, particularly in the United Kingdom and the United States, consisting of a fruit or savory filling poured into a large baking dish and covered with a batter, biscuit, or dumpling (in The United Kingdom) before being baked. Some cobbler recipes, especially in the American south, resemble a thick-crusted, deep-dish pie with both a top and bottom crust.

Cobblers originated in the British American colonies. English settlers were unable to make traditional suet puddings due to lack of suitable ingredients and cooking equipment, so instead covered a stewed filling with a layer of uncooked plain biscuits or dumplings, fitted together.[citation needed] The origin of the name cobbler, recorded from 1859, is uncertain: it may be related to the archaic word cobbler, meaning “wooden bowl”.

The peach (Prunus persica) is a deciduous tree native to the region of Northwest China between the Tarim Basin and the north slopes of the Kunlun Shan mountains, where it was first domesticated and cultivated. It bears an edible juicy fruit called a peach or a nectarine.

The specific epithet persica refers to its widespread cultivation in Persia (modern-day Iran), whence it was transplanted to Europe. It belongs to the genus Prunus which includes the cherry, apricot, almond and plum, in the rose family. The peach is classified with the almond in the subgenus Amygdalus, distinguished from the other subgenera by the corrugated seed shell.

Peach and nectarines are the same species, even though they are regarded commercially as different fruits. In contrast to peaches, whose fruits present the characteristic fuzz on the skin, nectarines are characterized by the absence of fruit-skin trichomes (fuzz-less fruit); genetic studies suggest nectarines are produced due to a recessive allele, whereas peaches are produced from a dominant allele for fuzzy skin.

China alone produced 58% of the world’s total for peaches and nectarines in 2014. Spain accounted for 39% of global export volume in 2013.

1 box yellow cake mix
1 can(s) diet 7up or sprite


1 – Spread frozen peaches in Pam sprayed 13×9 pan.
2 – Sprinkle dry cake mix over peaches.
3 – Pour 7up over cake mix.
4 – Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
5 – Uncover and bake for 40 minutes.
6 – ENJOY!
