Whether it’s a purse, jacket, pair of pants or suitcase, a broken zipper can make your favorite items unusable! But most people don’t know there’s a simple way to repair these broken zippers and all you need is a pair of needle-nose pliers! Once you have your pliers in hand and the broken zipper in front of you, it’s time to follow these easy steps!
First, slide the zipper down to the very bottom of the track. Then, used the pliers to push the edges of the slider down so they grip the teeth better. Be careful not to press too hard – you don’t want to make zipping up much more difficult instead of much easier! Once both sides are pressed down to the level that works for you, try pulling the slider up!
The teeth should catch and you should be able to use the garment, bag or accessory just like before! If you’re more of a visual learner, press “play” on the helpful tutorial below! Now you don’t have to toss an item after the zipper goes haywire! You can bring it back to life with this simple trick! Once you’ve repaired zippers of your own, be sure to share this video with your friends and loved ones!
