Unbelievably soft sweet rolls filled and frosted with a lightly orange-flavored icing.
Pretty tasty! They aren’t a very sweet roll, so if you like sweets for breakfast, you may want to add more sugar in the filling or perhaps in the dough itself. I added some cinnamon to the filling and I think it was a good choice!
This is my grandmother’s recipe, and is one that she inherited from her mother. This is one of those roll recipes that uses one dough to make about 3 or 4 different kinds of rolls.
Really good! Just what I was craving. I took another user’s recommendation and sprinkled some cinnamon in the filling, and it tasted great!
I remember being a little girl and having the cinnamon roll version of these on Sunday mornings after spending the night at Grandma and Grandpa’s house on a Saturday night. No cinnamon roll has ever really lived up to Grandma’s soft, pillowy rolls. And let me tell you why: this dough requires absolutely no kneading.
I added cinnamon to the filing. Recipe had the right amount of orange flavor.
Delicious soft rolls. I wanted more orange flavor so I added a little orange extract to the icing. I didn’t like the cream cheese flavor in the icing, so next time I’ll make it without cream cheese.
Super great! I made a double batch and they were gone in two days! You can’t just eat one or two……….
